Good morning everyone, I’m back in the office after a great weekend in San Francisco. Go 49ers! “Lead yourself not into temptation”. Lets be real America. We are officially the fattest country on earth. Why? we all lack will power against temptation. When you go to the food store buy healthy and you will eat healthy. Humans have certain patterns in life. If you buy crap foods aka junk or sweets, your mind gets used to what it sees and then becomes a pattern of temptation/addiction. You can simply break your visual and mental patterns by purchasing healthy foods. Daily routines are a part of our lives. We control what we do, see and feel because that’s what we choose to surround our lives with.
The best way to start your day is a huge healthy breakfast. Fill that gas tank early on and avoid the mid day crash. Breakfast choices: Grain toast with apple jelly, one cup of oatmeal with a banana. Or you can eat half a cantelope with a bowl of cascadian farms cereal. Cascadian is really good and low in simple sugar. You can follow NRG Fitness Network on youtube!!! Have an amazing day.

People don’t understand the importance of strength training. Strength training adds muscle and muscle uses calorie (units of heat) for fuel. The body will lose up to 5% of it’s total muscle mass per year unless you implement regular strength training. Follow up with some healthy eating and cardio and you should be good to go. Remember, fitness is CONSISTENCY. Small steps day in and day out.
Good morning everyone. Why is breakfast so important? Can a car run on an empty tank of gas? Do you feel tired at work during the day? Eating a balanced breakfast every morning will give you the fuel you need throughout your day. Breakfast starts your metabolism and rev’s up your internal motor. You get so many vitamins and minerals via breakfast. The human body will store fat when the metabolism slows down. The body goes into survival mode when deficient in calories. The body the becomes catatonic (eating itself) and utilizes muscle, which has sugar for fuel. On that note, have a fantastic day and a big, healthy breakfast. P.S. Work, family and daily life distractions can suck the life out of you. When this happens we need to rise up and don’t look back. It’s amazing how much inner strength we carry as human beings. Stress can be turned into motivation by not letting it take over your mind. Add a little exercise into the equation and you will conquer your objectives.
Today’s tip is for all those long distance runners. Whether you run for the love of running or compete with yourself to better your distance and time, always mix it up every couple of weeks with some short interval sprints aka fast/slow. Long distance running relies on the oxygenative system for energy, short distance relies on lactic and phosphagen systems. It’s great to throw a wrench in your regiment to keep the body progressing over time. Plus, you burn a lot more calorie in the lactic/phosphagen energy state. Have a healthy day.
